Renfrewshire neighbours, WRC Recycling and St Vincent’s Hospice announce an official charity partnership that will see the family-run business take part in a Glass Walk at its Headquarters in Inchinnan investment park on the 26th of October.
WRC Recycling and its employees have committed to supporting the local hospice by raising enough funds in the next calendar year to pay for a day’s care at the hospice, which currently totals £6,000.
The hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care for thousands of patients and families who have been affected by life-limiting conditions. Located in the outskirts of Howwood and serving all of Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire, the Hospice is committed to providing compassionate care for all. This is carried out across four key services, an 8-bed in-patient unit, day hospice, community nurse specialists, and a patient and family support team.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospice was unable to hold any of its annual charity events that played a vital role in raising the funds to support the operational costs of the facility as well as the purchase of new beds, baths, and other furnishings that will enhance patient care.
WRC Managing Director, Robert Capper, said:
“Undoubtedly, the COVID-19 pandemic and current cost of living crisis have created unprecedented social and economic hardship across the country, resulting in charities and non-profit organisations such as St Vincent’s Hospice feeling the detrimental effects.
“The outstanding care carried out by the team at St Vincent’s Hospice has a profound effect on the lives of the patients, and WRC is delighted to be able to offer our support and raise money to help fund the facility’s operational costs.
“The team at WRC looks forward to taking part in a glass walk next month and we welcome donations from the local community to help us fundraise for the palliative care carried out by the staff at St Vincent’s”.

This will allow WRC to pay for the entire running costs of our hospice service for a whole 24 hrs – what a wonderful gift.”
