Earlier this month, WRC Recycling offered its support to the Erskine Veterans Charity through the donation of an 8-yard skip for its annual Firewalk fundraising event.
The event saw fundraisers walk over burning coals to help raise funds for the charity that has provided support to local veterans since 1916 and is now a care facility for almost 1,000 residents each year.
The charity provides care for veterans through four care homes and a veteran’s village that comprises 44 cottages, activity centres, transitional-supported accommodations, and five assisted living apartments.
WRC General Manager, Colin Blakely, said:
“It was our pleasure to offer our support to the Erskine through the donation of a skip for the Firewalk event.
“As a Renfrewshire neighbour, we understand our obligation to support and encourage local Renfrewshire charities that provide essential care to community members and make a difference to those that need it most.
“We take great pride in helping local businesses and charities, and we hope our latest gesture to Erskine demonstrates our gratitude for the compassion and care carried out by each of the volunteers”.
