WRC Recycling is delighted to announce its first apprentice intake following the business’ latest expansion at its Inchinnan-based premises. The appointment of WRC’s first-ever apprentice will mark a huge milestone for the firm as it pilots the value of Modern Apprenticeships to business operations.
As a local family-run business, WRC is a huge advocator of youth employment and skills development, and the business is delighted to be able to offer its support to a local youth as they embark on the 3-year programme. The announcement of WRC’s first steps toward the apprenticeship offering comes shortly after the business’ involvement in Renfrewshire Council’s DFN Project Search programme – a programme that sets out to provide young adults with learning disabilities and autism with the skills required to succeed in employment – which saw local youth, Mitchell Marshall, obtain full-time employment at the end of his work placement.
The SCQF Level 7 course in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics will provide the new start with practical mechanical experience in all aspects of heavy vehicle repair and maintenance including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement, and overhaul of major components, and electrical fault diagnosis.
